Purée // Homemade Applesauce

This project's goal was to create a strongly developed brand for a product of our creation, and apply this to its corresponding packaging design.

For this assignment, I chose applesauce and wanted to stay to a homemade, classical feel, but with a nice blend of modern design. In order to achieve this I used elements that complimented the “artisan” look, and also used a plain mason jar for it’s storage.

Through utilizing multiple sources for inspiration and research, I managed to come up with my 3 directions, and many different variations of each. For myself, choosing the right one is always the hardest decision I have to make. For me, it makes a difference in the look and overall feel trying to be achieved through the brand - and should show more than just whats needed, creating a connection to the consumer. So to achieve this through my brand of applesauce, I wanted the potential consumers to feel like its something that could be made from the comfort of their own home, while also remaining a very healthy snack.

With all the food options available today, its hard to choose a good health-wise snack that tastes delicious and is great for you. Applesauce is a classic, can come in many different flavours, and has no need for any added preservatives or sugars. With 3 simple ingredients, anyone could make their own from home, or even take it to the next level with various, simple related recipes (take fruit leather for example, a homemade “fruit-roll-up”).
